How SMS opt-in works

Consent to receive text messages from Jon's Reminders is collected through a web form. Users opt in themselves; we never add a number without the steps below, and we only message people who complete them.

1. 1. A user creates an account at jonsreminders.com and opens Settings.
2. 2. They enter their own mobile number and check the consent box shown below (unchecked by default — the “Send code” button stays disabled until they check it).
3. 3. We text a 6-digit code to that number. Entering the code back on the site confirms the number is theirs and completes the opt-in.
